The only other Mopar man I can remember from that time period would be Charlie Belue

Sorry but that not right, anyone else wish to make a guess? This driver raced at Razorback on a regular basis in 71. But he also raced at CCS, Sooner, and later on asphalt at TSS.He was a local (Arkansan) and still is today. But hasn't been around the racing sceen for a while.

You got it. He drove a 68 or 69 Dodge Charger #71 sponsored by Spider Webb Motors.

The Tri-State Spooker was raced in 1980-83 under a differant name, before the race name was changed to the spooker. What was the race called for the first 4 years ?

HA!!...Thats been a day...or three ago! ;D
Lets see...we had the "Summertime Classic",I think it became the "Coke-Cola Classic". Seems to me there were more "Classic's" of one type or another......So I'll say,"Halloween Classic"

It took me 2 days, but I dug it up. In 1982 after the "Miller Beer Championship Stock Car Races", TSS ran a two day show called "Charlies Fried Chicken HALLOWEEN CLASSIC" that featured late models & winged championship dirt cars (sprint cars). also running the event was the Sportsman,Claimer,Pick-up truck classes, and the 6-cylinder modifieds(I don't recall them ). Larry Phillips won this event in 1980 &'81. Jerry Inmon finished 2nd. in '81. Also in '81 Wade Burlew (Sportsman),John Skaggs Jr. (Claimer),and Emmett Hahn (winged sprints) were the winners.
