Thanks for naming dad driver of the month . It really made his day.He is 80 years old and still loves to go to the races. He can still adjust a carb better than anyone I have ever seen. One of the neatest things is when he comes across another older driver.(not many left) it like he is seeing a long lost brother. No mater how hard they raced each other. Anyone that was lucky enough to have seen races at razor back knew there was not any bigger rivals then Don Milliken and Dale Wofford but I am proud to say they became good friends.

Larry welcome to the forum. It is a great honor for us to be able to do this for your Dad. I remember him racing back to the days of the track in Roland, which one of my trivia questions was about. I have a lot of great memories watching him at Razorback growing up. But the times that will always mean the most is when I first met him when I was about 15, and now at 55 I can still call one of my child hero's a good friend. I first met him at "Never A Dull Moment" Oz Frees Custom Muffler on Midland in Ft Smith. There are a lot of stories can be told from that place. Several great race cars come out of that shop. Your Dad was instrumental in helping nick name me Angel, because I use to remind him and Dennis Crowder of a little fat hells angel, with my long hair and riding around on a Honda 100. Your Dad was great to give me advice to help keep my head on straight at that age. He will always be one of the great history makers in our area.

WOW! Don Milliken as driver of the month. What a neat thing. As a kid I used to see Don at my dads track (Roland), Razorback, Tri State or when the Ft. Smith Racing Assn. had their meetings at I believe it was the old Superior Federal Bank on Rogers ave, Don was always exceptionally nice. I'll never forget that. Seeing the drivers at the track was one thing but to see them at those meetings IN PERSON! As a kid that was a big deal to me. If anyone drove a race car you were my hero but I had a bunch of favorites and Don was hands down one of my all time favorites along with Dale Wofford, Herb Burris, DonSchoenfeld, Bill Sanders, Ray Rainey, The Hulls, shoot, I liked all of them! I'm glad Don was named and still with us. I sure miss the old days and drivers. That is why I have done a drawing on most every car that raced at Razorback as my way of paying tribute to all my local heros. Thanks for such a GREAT WEB SITE AND GREAT PATRONS OF THIS SITE! Congratulations Don Milliken!
